Every Question You
Were Afraid to Ask

Honest, detailed answers to the questions every international buyer asks before sourcing from China. No jargon, no sales pitch.

01

Getting Started

How do I get started with SourcePilot Global?

Getting started is simple — send us your product inquiry via our contact form, email, or WhatsApp. Describe what you need: product name, specifications, quantity, target price, and destination. We'll respond within 24 hours with an honest initial assessment and next steps. There are no upfront fees to begin, and no commitment required at the inquiry stage.

What information do I need to provide to get a quote?

The more detail you provide, the more accurate and useful your quote will be. Key information includes: product name and description, specifications (dimensions, materials, colors), target quantity, any required certifications or quality standards, destination country, and an ideal target price if you have one. Photos, reference links, or samples are extremely helpful — the clearer the brief, the faster and more accurate our response.

How long does it take to get a quote?

We commit to a preliminary quote within 24–48 business hours for most standard products. For complex custom items or specialized technical products (such as multi-layer PCBs or industrial machinery), we'll confirm a realistic timeline upfront and keep you updated throughout the process. Urgent requests are handled as a priority — let us know if timing is critical.

Is there a fee to use SourcePilot Global's services?

There are no upfront fees for inquiries or quotations. Our sourcing fee is typically built into the factory price we negotiate on your behalf — meaning you benefit from expert procurement support without paying extra on top of the product cost. In many cases, our negotiation leverage and market knowledge mean you pay less than if you sourced directly. For specific service arrangements (such as dedicated inspection-only engagements), we'll be fully transparent about applicable fees before any work begins.

02

MOQ & Ordering

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

MOQ varies by product type and factory. For many consumer products and packaging, orders can start from as low as 50–200 units. For electronics and custom manufactured goods, MOQ is typically 100–500 units. Small MOQ is our specialty — we actively negotiate lower minimums on your behalf, and often achieve MOQs below what factories advertise publicly. If you have a specific quantity in mind, tell us and we'll be honest about whether it's achievable.

Can you source products I've already found on Alibaba or other platforms?

Yes — and we do this regularly for clients. If you've found a product on Alibaba or a similar platform, we can help you verify the supplier (many Alibaba listings are from trading companies, not actual factories), negotiate a better price by going direct, arrange proper quality inspection, and handle shipping and logistics. Many of our clients come to us after bad experiences sourcing alone — we help eliminate those risks.

Can I order samples before committing to a full order?

Absolutely — and we strongly recommend it. Sampling is Step 4 in our standard 7-step process and is included as a matter of course for all new products. We facilitate sample requests with the factory, coordinate shipping to you, and help you evaluate the sample against your specifications. Sample costs are typically paid by the buyer but are often credited against the final production order balance.

03

Quality Control

How does your quality inspection work?

Our pre-shipment inspection is conducted in-person at the factory before goods are released for shipping. We physically check product specifications, dimensions, materials, functionality, packaging, and quantity count against your approved sample and order specification. You receive a detailed written report with real photographs documenting pass and fail points, and a clear overall pass/fail verdict. Goods are only shipped after you have reviewed and approved the inspection report.

What happens if the goods fail the quality inspection?

If goods fail inspection, we do not release them for shipment and your balance payment is not transferred to the factory. We document the specific failures, escalate directly to factory management, and negotiate a resolution — typically rework of the defective units, replacement production, or repackaging — at the factory's cost where the defects are their responsibility. We stay engaged until the goods meet your standards. This process is one of the strongest protections we provide.

How do you verify that factories are legitimate?

We conduct a multi-step factory vetting process before recommending any supplier: business registration and export license verification, production capability assessment (machinery, workforce, production volume), review of quality management systems and certifications (ISO 9001, CE, etc.), evaluation of prior export experience and client references, and where applicable, on-site verification visits. Only factories that pass this process make our recommended shortlist.

04

Pricing & Payment

How is payment typically structured?

The most common structure is 30% deposit to initiate production, with the remaining 70% balance paid after the quality inspection is passed and before shipment is authorized. This protects you — you only pay in full once you've confirmed the goods meet your specifications. Exact terms may vary by factory, order size, and product type. We'll always confirm payment terms in writing before any order is placed.

Will you be cheaper than sourcing directly from Chinese factories myself?

In most cases, yes. Our team negotiates in Mandarin, benchmarks pricing across multiple factories, and leverages long-term supplier relationships to secure pricing that individual foreign buyers simply cannot achieve alone. Clients typically see 15–40% savings versus public platform pricing. Beyond the price, our quality inspection service alone often prevents costly mistakes — a single batch of defective goods can wipe out months of savings.

05

Shipping & Logistics

What shipping methods do you offer?

We arrange all major shipping methods based on your product, quantity, budget, and required timeline: express courier via DHL, UPS, or FedEx (3–7 days, ideal for samples and small shipments), air freight (5–10 days, good balance of speed and cost for mid-size shipments), sea freight LCL or FCL (15–45 days, most economical for large orders), and China-Europe rail (18–25 days, competitive for EU destinations). We recommend the best method for your specific situation and handle all arrangements end to end.

Can you ship directly to an Amazon FBA warehouse?

Yes — Amazon FBA delivery is a core part of what we do. We handle all FBA labeling requirements (FNSKU labels, suffocation warnings, poly bagging), carton configuration to Amazon's specifications, and coordination with Amazon's approved carrier programs. We ship directly to fulfillment centers in the US, UK, EU, and other Amazon marketplaces. Our goal is to ensure your shipment is accepted without delays or compliance issues.

Do you handle customs clearance?

We prepare all export documentation on the China side — commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill — ensuring compliance with both Chinese export regulations and destination country import requirements. For import customs at your destination, we coordinate with local customs brokers and freight forwarders, and can advise on HS codes, estimated duties, and import documentation. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) arrangements are available on request.

06

Factories & Production

What is the typical production timeline?

Based on industry experience, here are typical timeline estimates by stage: quotation and supplier sourcing 1–3 business days; sample production 5–10 days; mass production 15–30 days (depending on complexity and quantity); quality inspection 2–5 days; and shipping 3–10 days (air) or 15–45 days (sea). Total lead time from first inquiry to delivery at your door is typically 4–10 weeks for standard products. Your actual timeline will be confirmed in writing once we understand your specific product and requirements.

What quality standards do your partner factories hold?

Factory certifications vary by product category. Electronics factories typically hold ISO 9001, and many can support CE, FCC, and RoHS product certification. Consumer goods factories may hold BSCI, ISO 9001, and REACH compliance. Packaging factories often hold FSC certification for sustainable materials. We match the factory to your certification requirements — include any required compliance documentation in your inquiry and we'll confirm factory capability upfront before recommending a supplier.

07

PCB & Electronics

Can you source PCB boards and electronic assemblies?

Yes — PCB and electronics sourcing is one of our core specialties. We source single-layer and multi-layer PCBs, handle SMT assembly, through-hole assembly, and complete PCBA (PCB Assembly with components). We work directly with your Gerber files and BOM to identify the right factory and provide an accurate quote. We also support sourcing of individual electronic components and finished consumer electronics from certified Shenzhen factories. Minimum PCB order from 50 boards.

What certifications can you help obtain for electronics products?

For European markets, we coordinate CE marking and RoHS compliance through accredited testing labs. For the US market, FCC certification support is available. We also assist with IPC-A-610 quality standards for PCB assembly, ISO 9001 factory documentation, and REACH compliance for components. Always include your target market and required certifications in your initial inquiry so we can confirm factory capability and testing lab availability before confirming the engagement.
